Poor radio. It's the Rodney Dangerfield of advertising.
Too often it winds up being thrown together in a hurry, with no love for the script and too much information crammed into 30 seconds. You don't need to spend a fortune to get a spot that stands out in a busy environment. You just need to let someone who knows what she's doing (cough cough) write a focused script for you. |
Need some interesting content on your site to boost your inbound marketing, establish yourself as a leader in your field, connect people with your brand, and keep them coming back?
Let's talk. I can either be your blogger, or write a blogging/ social media style guide for your company that ensures all of your posts and updates sound on brand and consistent. Check out this site for a series of tourism blogs I did for Chukka Caribbean. |
I'm a Green Monster
If the envelope I use to send something to you looks used, it is. My business may be small, but the way I choose to run it makes a big difference when it comes to being sustainable, Earth-friendly, and green.
First, my office is in my house. I burn no fossil fuels to get to work.
My house is heated with a heat pump and has a solar panel for hot water.
I rarely print paper and if I do, I ensure that it is shredded and recycled after I'm done with it. I'm the sort who pulls out the paperclips and staples to make sure the shredded paper isn't contaminated with metal. I also buy only 100% recycled paper for printing or anything else (think "bathroom.")
Once a year (or even less often) I take my dead batteries and empty toner cartridges to the reycling depot.
My whole office is set up on surge protectors and everything is powered down when work is done. Day's done, lights off.
When going to a meeting, I try to find the greenest way to get there. If possible, I'll walk or take public transit. Yes, that's me on the ferry. And when I get to the meeting, I'll be lugging my own mug (Earl Grey, black, thanks) and my laptop, because I won't print off the documents we're going to discuss, I'll read them on my screen.
I like to work with locally owned businesses that share my values.
How efficient is my house/office? Some garbage days it's hardly worth my while to put the trash at the curb, I make so little. This isn't my business policy--it's my life policy.
Workplace Health and Safety
While it's true that I'm a workplace of one, I go to great lengths to ensure health and safety for my employee (me). I provide her (me) with a gym membership to keep her (me) fit and strong. I also employ a snow removal service in the winter so she (I) don't slip and fall on the ice, or hurt herself/myself shovelling out the drive (I may be fit, but I'm not as young as I used to be). First aid supplies are always at hand in the office and I have carefully calibrated the desk to ensure it is ergonomically safe.
Social Equity
I believe in giving back. For the past four years, I've given my time to help Phoenix prepare their donor report, and I also participate in fundraising activities for the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.
